The Art of Rehumanism

Six hands-on workshops for moving from purpose and story to subject choice, viewer care, craft, and a sustainable studio practice.

Jean-François Millet, The Gleaners
Jean-François Millet, "The Gleaners" (1857)

A guided route through the studio

The sequence moves from why you paint to how you choose and shape a subject, then toward care for the viewer, craft, and daily practice. The exercises and reflections are invitations rather than rules; adapt, question, or set them aside.

Fellows and working artists: try one workshop at a time and bring the prompts into the studio. Educators and students: each workshop can support a discussion or short unit. General readers: the opening and closing sections of each workshop provide the clearest through-line.
