Daniel Zalla
2025 FellowDaniel Zalla is a painter from Northern Kentucky whose work centers on narrative painting and portraiture. After earning a BFA from Xavier University, he moved to Florence to continue his studies at the Florence Academy of Art. During his five years there, he completed the academy’s painting program and received the "Best Painting of the Year" award before serving as an artist-in-residence and later as a principal instructor in the drawing program. His work has led to commissions for churches, private collectors, and individuals across North America and Europe, and he has been recognized by the American Artists Professional League, the Art Renewal Center Salon Competition, the Portrait…
